Can we accelerate neutron by cyclotron? Give reason
Would we be able to speed up neutron by cyclotron?
ANSWER:
We can't speed up neutron by cyclotron.
ABOUT CYCLOTRON
The cyclotron was perhaps the earliest sort of particle accelerator and is as yet utilized as the primary phase of some huge multi-stage particle accelerators.Cyclotron comprises of two metallic empty chambers which are called Dees. An alternating voltage is applied between the two dees and furthermore a cross magnetic field is applied.
ABOUT NEUTRON
Neutron is a rudimentary molecule, which has no charge and its mass is somewhat more than the mass of a proton. Neutrons being unbiased, they are not repelled or drawn in by the core(nucleus) and the electrons of a molecule.
REASON
Cyclotron is a device used to speed up(accelerate) charged particles. Cyclotron chips away at the rule that a charged particle moving typical to a magnetic field encounters magnetic Lorentz force because of which the particle moves in a roundabout way and subsequently speeds up it.
Since a neutron is unbiased by charge so a cyclotron can't
speed up it and because of the net no charge on a neutron it can't be
so handily sped up by any strategy.
